Embracing Rural Charm

Nestled within the idyllic village of Jaroszewo, Poland, the Horse House Stable by wiercinski-studio stands as a testament to raw simplicity and rural charm. Surrounded by lush fields and quaint farmsteads, this cozy stable serves as a modern hub for the Ludwiczak Stables’ breeding and training activities.

Contextual Harmony

Located amidst a landscape dotted with diverse architectural styles, the Horse House seamlessly integrates into its surroundings. The design takes cues from the local vernacular, with its pitched roofs and unassuming facade blending effortlessly with the existing buildings and picturesque fields.

Functional Elegance

Designed to cater to the needs of both horses and humans, the Horse House boasts a versatile layout. Featuring a spacious training hall, eighteen horse stalls, a warehouse, and a social area, the building harmoniously combines form and function. The strategic placement of the new stable opposite the existing structures fosters interaction among the equine residents.

Architectural Ingenuity

The unique shape of the Horse House reflects a thoughtful response to its context and function. By aligning the building with the adjacent structures and incorporating mono-pitched roofs, the architects have created a cohesive yet distinctive form. A vertical skylight illuminates the training hall, evoking industrial aesthetics while providing ample natural light.

Materiality and Sustainability

Rooted in sustainability, the Horse House employs natural and raw materials to blend seamlessly with its rural setting. Concrete blocks and wooden elements define the structure, creating a tactile and visually striking facade. Polycarbonate inserts and silver trapezoidal sheeting enhance daylighting and weather resistance, ensuring comfort and longevity.

Interior Authenticity

Inside, the honesty of construction materials takes center stage, with exposed installations and visible structures imparting a sense of authenticity. Locally crafted furniture and lighting fixtures further enhance the interior, imbuing the space with a unique and personalized character.

A Timeless Retreat

With its rustic charm and functional elegance, the Horse House Stable stands as a timeless retreat where tradition meets modernity. Rooted in the rich heritage of rural Poland, this architectural gem serves as a sanctuary for horses and humans alike, embodying the essence of country living amidst the picturesque landscape of Jaroszewo.
